"For me, the process of abstraction is an ever evolving one, where the liberation of ideas, feelings and creativity are inextricably linked. Much of my work emerges from the exploration of ideas through small sketches, whereby drawing can either be a part of the eventual composition or act merely as a starting point. It can be necessary to transcend the original idea so that expression, exploration and intuition can take over, allowing the creative process to evolve. It is often as if a mutation takes place as the work develops organically and takes on a life of its own. It is this process of constantly evaluating and re-evaluating what I am doing that excites me and drives me to create."
