Mary Hooper's practice is mainly self initiated site-specific residencies in locations ranging from museums, churches and community settings, working in a range of media, depending on the subject – sculpture, drawing and digital media. Hooper trained as a sculptor and combines her practice with that of a curator and commissioner working in the public sector. She works to commission and has received grants and awards from the Arts Council, the Lottery and other public funders.
