Born in 1933 at Cadborough Farm, Rye. Studied painting at Hastings. Taught art for 10 years. Lived in San Francisco and Edinburgh, painting and exhibiting widely. Work in public and private collections. Studied tapestry weaving at Edinburgh Art College and wood engraving at West Dean.

Landscape is my inspiration. Light, line, colour, texture, the seasons, atmosphere: these I search for in my painting. Vincent Lines, my teacher at Hastings, and later Archie Sutter Watt in Galloway, gave me help and encouragement beyond value.
