Val Falla

Trained at Sheffield College of Art. Awarded a scholarship from Punch magazine. Studied illustration at the Royal College of Art, London, under Edward Bawden and John Nash. Bawden has had a long lasting influence on my work, which is often based on half-recollected memories of childhood, with undercurrents of humour and satire, creating a fantasy world with its own dynamic and visual presence. Living on the south coast I'm attracted by the richness of seaside imagery. I use a variety of media, mainly collage, monoprinting, linoprint, found objects & gouache with ink.
